A bon port
Well, after 20 hours journey (counting the way to Heathrow), I'm safe and sound in Bangkok. Totally jet lagged (and wondering if I can really stay awake another 4 hours (it's 4.30 pm here)... !
So far, not many exciting stories, the hostel is nice (for a gbp4.50 a night one) AND the air con is quiet and works !! Have discovered that I'm gonna smoke quite a bit here, at 45p a packet... how can i not ? :)
I haven't seen much of Bangkok, the backpacker area is slightly on the outskirt and I can't face a tuk tuk tonight, all i can say is that when it rains here IT RAINS... England has a few things to learn on that level ! The heat is ok, about 30 degrees but very humid. The area is ugly, dusty and noisy... but I guess that's what asian cities are like for the most part. and in a way, it's almost charming, it's definitely a bit of a culture shock !
Flights went ok, watch plenty of trashy movies (that fantastic four flame guy is sooooo yum yum.. shame that the movie is soooo crap (but the many flesh shots make up for it ;) !)
Well, that's about it for now... all I can think of is buying tshirts and sleep, I'm hoping to achieve both asap :)

has anyone tried to sell you a suit/gems/massage - or tried to take you to a seafood restaurant yet?

Yep, every 10 minutes have been asked if i wanted a suit... didn't have the gem thing yet... Did have the tuk tuk guy trying to tell me that Wat Pho was closed for the day (yeah right).. mind u.. got my own back... I got the ride to the Wat for B30 instead of 100 :)
